Swisher County

The City of Kress is part of Swisher County, which has it's county seat as Tulia, Texas. Swisher County was first created in 1876  and in 1890 was organized. The name Swisher was from a soldier of the Texas Revolution, James G. Swisher,  which was also a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence.
